Environmental Specialist

1. Job Description

Responsible for or participating in the development and modification of operational processes, regulations, emergency response plans related to safety, environmental protection, fire prevention and fighting, and occupational health within the scope of responsibilities; organizing emergency response drills according to plans and drill scenarios within the area of responsibility. Participating in hazard identification, compliance assessment, and environmental factor determination.
Organizing training programs related to environmental protection.
Responsible for environmental monitoring, hazardous and solid waste treatment, and supervising the operation of environmental protection equipment.
Organizing or supervising the planning, implementation, and acceptance of technical improvement projects related to the environment, while also performing the “three simultaneous” tasks in the environmental field (designing, constructing, and putting into operation simultaneously with the main project).
Participating in checking the safety status, environmental protection, fire prevention and fighting, and occupational health of equipment and facilities in the company; supervising and urging relevant parties to take corrective actions when potential risks are identified.
Conducting regular inspections at the workplace regarding safety, environment, fire prevention and fighting, and occupational health; monitoring compliance with regulations by employees and urging the resolution of issues.
Responsible for organizing the management of unexpected environmental incidents, including: developing response plans, preparing emergency supplies, organizing drills, etc.
In charge of liaising and working with government agencies and related organizations within the scope of responsibilities.
Responsible for establishing an environmental management system towards standardization, participating in the development of other standards.
Responsible for collecting, filling out, and reporting information and data related to the area of responsibility.
Assisting the department head in performing other tasks within the scope of functions and duties.

2. Job Requirements

Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field related to Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Ecology, etc.
Experience requirements: At least 3 years of experience in the field of environmental engineering or environmental management in a manufacturing enterprise; understanding of environmental protection laws in Vietnam and industrial pollution control technologies. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in preparing environmental impact assessment reports (EIA), designing environmental protection works, or establishing environmental management systems at factories.
Relevant certifications: Possession of an environmental engineer certificate in Vietnam (recognized by the competent authority); preference for candidates with knowledge or experience with the ISO 14001 environmental management system.
Skill requirements: Proficient in designing air pollution treatment technologies (dust filtration, VOC treatment, etc.), proficient in using office software such as WPS, capable of preparing environmental impact assessment reports, understanding the environmental acceptance process in Vietnam, able to plan and develop annual environmental monitoring programs, and proficient in preparing periodic environmental monitoring reports.
Language requirements: Basic communication skills in Chinese, with the ability to communicate in a multicultural environment.
For Vietnamese candidates: Fluency in Chinese or English is required; preference for candidates with experience working in Chinese enterprises.
